Kalypso is a runaway test subject to which scientists refer to as 9-0-8.

Not much is known about her past except that she probably spent a lot of time in the laboratory surrounded with "bad people" as she calls them.  The fact that she can barely read supports the idea of her being in the laboratory since a young age.

She made a "plan to escape" with Elpis but she was the only test subject who got out. It was later on showed that the government was aware of the escape plan which was actually their plan all along.
